Things to do on holiday in St Cézaire sur Siagne, France

Autentic village of Provence with all trade: boulangeries, grocers, butchers, souvenir shops, bank with a cash machine, restaurants and internet café. Typical provencal market twice a week (Tuesdays and Saturdays). Beautiful rambles at the river, old mills and olive-trees. Perched village of Mons at 15 minutes. Cannes, Saint-Raphaël with approximately half an hour.

Must visit: Les Grottes de St. Cézaire are a series of underground caves full of formations including draperies, stalactites (from the ceiling) and stalagmites (from the floor), many with a unique rose colour. The tour takes you down through the caverns, past the Salle des Draperies and the Chambre de la Fée, eventually to the Gouffre Béant at the bottom, where a cave river flows past.

The whole surrounding area has endless possibilities for nature walking at every levels, and ample cycling. Para gliding and all the river sports activities are available nearby and so are the famous canyons of the Verdon. A convenient and regular bus service departs from the village to the pretty medieval city of Grasse “the perfume capital of France”, from there other buses or trains will go anywhere along the 150 km long coast of the world famous “cote d’azur”, from St. Tropez to Monte Carlo.
